Education serves as the means to bring about the desired change in the society, to develop a generation of virtues individuals and thus contribute to the development of good human beings. The fundamental purpose of education is to gain knowledge, indicate the forms of proper conduct and acquire technical competency. Education serves as the means to develop oneself physically, mentally and socially. The importance of education to youths manifests itself in the terms of the need to cultivate the youths of the society into mature individuals.

Education, if simply stated, means the process of gaining knowledge, inculcating a form of proper conduct and acquiring technical competency. It involves the cultivation of an innocent mind, and the instilling of values and principles in the mind of children. It includes the development of skills along with the achievement of one’s physical, mental and social development. To put it in technical terms education consists of defined phases starting from formal education that consist of primary, secondary and higher education and ideally it never ends. The process of education that is believed to begin in the womb continues throughout life.

The School is to be affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and so it shall prepare its students for the All India Secondary School Examination and All India Secondary School Certificate Examination (Board Exams for Classes X and XII respectively) conducted by the CBSE, New Delhi.

The courses of study, framed by NCERT, at various levels are followed in this school.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

A balanced approach and combination of sports, music, dramatics, dance and computers with academic classes completes the picture of overall growth at Baluni Public School, Kotdwar. At BPS Kotdwar, classroom teaching will be interactive and will appropriately be supported by multimedia teaching aids, group discussions, seminars, visit by eminent guest faculty/speakers, field visit, project work. Literacy, cultural, sports and information technology activities will form an integral part of learning at School. Comprehensive records will be maintained for all students giving their all round progress.

Interesting moral stories are narrated to explain to the young minds that, they have immense potential in them and that faith or belief in oneself helps them to succeed in whatever they do. The jig-saw puzzles, the block building gems and a variety of games are planned and put into practice through art & origami to induce learning without making the child conscious of learning.
