The school provides separate residential facilities for boys. Hostels are well equipped and have all the facilities that help the children live and grow in an environment that they can identify as their home.

Trained staff members and housemaster, along with a whole range of support staff, are entrusted with the well being of the children and to ensure that the needs of our pupils are fully met.

Staying in a hostel is a unique experience and who so ever has stayed in one will appreciate the true value of it. It’s a well known fact that hostel life infuses confidence and makes a child independent which helps him grow mentally and psychologically.

Hostel life instills confidence and makes one independent. It’s an opportunity provided where you make friends for life.

HOSTEL ADMISSION
 
Parents seeking Hostel accommodation for their ward in the School are required to submit a written application to the Principal. After the approval, child will be given Hostel facilities, and the fee is to be deposited in School Office. After obtaining the Hostel fee receipt, Parents are to report to the Hostel Warden for completing the Hostel admission formalities i.e. by filling in the requisite details indicated in this information Booklet. After all the formalities are completed, the Hostel Warden will allot the room/bed etc. to the child.
 
Formalities to be completed before joining the Hostel
 
Before a student joins/enters the Hostel, the following documentation & formalities must be completed on forms supplied by the School Office-

  • An authority letter from the parent indicating two names and addresses with their photographs and telephone nos. who would act as the Local Guardian.
  • Certificate / Letter from the Local Guardian for accepting the child to stay with him/her during sickness or in case of emergency.
  • Parents to give their telephone numbers and address for first contact in case of any emergency.
  • A certificate certifying that no cash/costly belongings are retained by the child.
  • List of clothing and items kept by the child.
  • A loan slip duly signed by the Parent / Local Guardian regarding items of bedding/clothing issued to the Hosteller.
  • Health certificate regarding medical history & fitness etc issued by a doctor not less than MBBS with signature and counter signature of the Parents & Hostel Warden concerned.
  • It is compulsory for all Boarders that to they obtain Health Insurance Cover.
  • The Performa duly completed must be handed over to the School Office.

 

GENERAL  

  • Boarders will follow the daily routine of the Hostel and School unless exempted on medical grounds by recommendation of the Hostel Warden/Medical Officer.
  • Boarders are not allowed to stay in the rooms during school hours/games / activities / study periods. No Day Scholar is permitted to enter theHostelBuilding.
  • Boarders are not allowed to keep any cash or valuables in their possession (rings / costly watches / jewelry / Mobile phone etc).
  • Boarders are not allowed to keep medicine or tonics without the knowledge & permission of the Hostel Warden/Medical Officer.
  • Instruments like Transistors, Tape-Recorders, Record-players, Guitars, etc. should not be played or used in the living rooms.
  • Electric Kettles, heaters, irons or other such appliances should not be used in the rooms.
  • No Boarders will operate bank account without written permission from the Hostel Warden.
  • The Hostel tuck shop will provide for daily needs. It will open at fixed times. No credit will be allowed.
  • All notices will be put up on the Hostel Notice Board. Announcements, if any, will be made during meal time.
  • Duty badges will be issued to students on duty.
  • Boarders will be allowed to go home during the long breaks. The Local Guardian can collect the child from the School-Hostel and make arrangements for his/her travel. The Boarders will return to the Hostel a day before the School reopens.
  • Examination reports will be sent to the Parents through the Hostel Warden.
  • It is compulsory for all Boarders to write a letter home every week and hand it over to the Hostel warden for posting.
  • Any Hosteller falling sick will report to the Hostel Warden immediately.
  • Parents are requested to provide their email ID to make it convenient for us to email their wards’ performance report and other parental circulars.
  • Students residing in the Hostel has to make note of the following and ensure strict compliance.
  • Eating and Keeping of eatables are strictly forbidden in the room.
  • Students will not eat anything from outside the School.


LEAVE RULES

  • Students are allowed to visit Local Guardians/ outing on one weekend every month. Prior permission must be obtained from the Warden for a weekend outing.
  • Students may be collected for the weekend, by their Local Guardian, on designated Saturday between 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or Sunday morning between 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. They must report back to the Hostel on Sunday latest by 6:00 p.m.
  • No individual day-outings will be allowed.
  • In case of emergency, when long leave is taken during working days or students are unable to return on time after a weekend, leave letters should be sent to the Principal and Hostel Warden, for information by the Parent/Local Guardian.

TELEPHONE CALLS

As far as possible, avoid telephone calls however, calls for Boarders will be received between 9:30 am to 11:15 am on Sunday only. Keeping & using mobile phone is prohibited in the Hostel.

VISITORS AND VISITING HOURS
 
An identity card will be issued to each Hostel student and his/her Guardian.No local Guardian will be permitted to visit Hostel without Identity Card. In case of emergency, Parents visits can be arranged with prior permission of the Principal.

MEDICAL
 
All Boarders Will be referred to the School Medical Officer for checkup, treatment and  follow up action .They will be taken/sent back to the Hostel after being declared fit by the School Medical Officer. All Boarders treated outside for any illness are required to bring a fitness certificate before joining the Hostel. The medical fitness certificate should be countersigned by the School Medical officer.

INFORMATION FOR HOSTEL STUDENTS
 
A floor committee of the boarders ( Floor Captain, Vice Captain ) from each floor will be responsible for the maintenance of the cleanliness and discipline on each floor. The floor committee will ensure that fans and lights have been switched off. Boarders are provided with a bed, a cupboard, a study desk and chair. Each boarder must maintain utmost cleanliness and make sure that the floor under his/her bed and cupboard is clean. Waste paper and refuse must be thrown in the dustbin provided in the rooms and not littered on the floor.

  • BEDS: Name and tag will be attached to every bed. Boarders will make their own beds neatly every morning. Nothing should be left on the beds, under the beds or on the cupboards.
  • CUPBOARDS: Cupboards must be arranged neatly. Surprise checks will be made by Hostel Wardens. Any extra items other then those specified in the Hostel kit will be confiscated. Shoes will be arranged neatly under the cupboard. Boarders will dust their room and cupboard tops daily.
  • STUDY DESK: Study Desk are to be used for books and stationery only and not for toiletries. Books must be arranged neatly and each boarder will be responsible for the dusting and cleanliness of his/ her bookshelf. The room committee must ensure that this is done and defaulters must be warned and brought to the Warden’s notice.
  • EATS: Eating in the dorms is unhygienic and is prohibited. The floor committee must make sure that any boarder who litters the room or spills any thing, cleans up the mess himself/herself.
  • BATHROOM AND TOILETS: Boarders must spend minimum time required in bathroom and toilets to give others a fair chance to use them. Boarders must ensure that the bathrooms and toilets after use are as clean as they would like to find them. They must ensure that they close all the taps.

 

DISCIPLINE IN THE MESS

  • Boarder will enter the dining hall and behave in a disciplined and civilized manner.
  • After meals, chairs must be put back neatly without noise.
  • Dress during meals Working days  Holidays .

OTHER INSTRUCTION TO THE PARENTS/GUARDIANS 

  • An advance of Rs 10000/- per child is required to be deposited with the School at the time of admission to meet the actual pocket expenses of the child. Statement of pocket money account is submitted to parents every quarter.
  • Boarders are not allowed to keep any money with them.
  • Routine medical treatment during the school hours is provided free by the school medical officer. However, if the medical officer has to be called from his residence to examine any boarder after the school hours, his professional charges of Rs 250/- per visit will have to be paid by the parents. A qualified Medical Assistant has been appointed to look after sick children under the advice of the school medical officer.
  • In case of emergency, Hosteller requiring hospitalization will be admitted in Hospital & parents will be informed accordingly. All hospital charges and amount spent on medicines will be billed to parents.
  • Lodging, Boarding, Tuition and supervision charges etc. has to be deposited as per fee structure.
  • After the due date a fine of Rs 30/-per day will be charged. At the end of the month his name will be struck off from the rolls and the student may be re-admitted at the discretion of the Principal on payment of all arrears and fresh admission fee.

Baluni Public School provides cricket coaching to the students of class VI to XII in various categories. The students participates in various cricket matches across the country to mould their carrer in cricket. Apart from it they also participate in the matches organised by its other branches like the North East Club and the Harry Cricket Academy in South Africa coached by the former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten, and the World Cup-winning coach of the Indian cricket team. One of our cricket prodigies, Rockey Raj has participated in Junior Ranji Trophy in the under-23 age category.

Baluni Public School provides pick-drop facilities on payment for its students & staff. Baluni Public School has a fleet of 10, 20 & 60-seat buses to cater to the transport need.

Medical check up of students is done regularly and a record is maintained. Parents are informed if the doctor finds that a child needs special medical attention.

Thereafter the parents are expected to keep the school doctor informed about the action taken. 

Parents are requested not to send sick child to school to attend classes or to appear for examinations as the child’s health is of prime importance. 

The Medical History of the student has to be filled up by the parents in the almanac. In case, any child is on regular medication, the details should be submitted to the class teacher and school doctor.

The security apparatus of the School consists of private security personnel including guards and chowkidars (employed as additional night watchmen). 

Campus Security
The campus is patrolled by armed and unarmed guards round the clock. Every individual including staff has to go through a Standard Security Check Procedure while entering or exiting through the Main Gate. 

Boys Boarding House
While  for safety, security and discipline, a security guard and watchmen do their duty inside the House, sufficient armed guards remain vigilant outside the Boys Houses throughout the day and night.
